“Orenburgsky radiator” LLC is a specialized enterprise in production of heat exchangers (radiators) of different designations: water, oil, CAC, heat exchangers for tractors, combines and other agricultural, road-building and special machines; mobile power stations, pumping facilities, gas boilers and water heaters, excavators, autoloaders, autobuses, trucks and passenger cars with internal combustion engine with power from 6 to 600 kW; they can be used in the regions with cold, temperate and tropical climate.
As most of the industrial enterprises, which represent modern Orenburg, the plant “Orenburgsky radiator” was founded in the beginning of World War II on the base of evacuated plant “Avtozapchast” from Odessa. “Avtozapchast” produced and restored spare parts for automobiles and tractors.
The production for the front was added to the former goods: the fuses for 82 millimiter’s mines, which bodies were made by Orenburg plant named after S. M. Kirov. In the beginning of 1942 the plant got a new order – to develop the production of spare parts for tractor park and the first 5 cores of radiators were produced.
As a result of specialization only on radiator production, the plant was renamed into “Radiator”. In 1974 the industrial association was formed on its base.
Facility on production of million cores and radiators per annum was set up as a consequence of enlargement, modernization and technical reequipment of enterprise. Industrial Association “Radiator” was the only manufacturer of radiators for tractors, combines, other agricultural and special machinery in the country.
On the base of Dedicated Design Technological Office was founded scientific – technological center, which made possible to produce new and to develop existing models of radiators.
In 1992 the national industrial association “Radiator” was reorganized into joint-stock company. The enterprises belonging to the “Radiator” began their independent production and financial activities.
In 1994 “Radiator” begins to develop and to produce automotive radiators.
In January 2000 the plant joins the group of Ural Mining – Metallurgical Company (UMMC) enterprises.
Production capacity of the enterprise to January 1st, 2004 made 799.2 thousand pcs. in a year; including:
- products for agricultural and special machines – 234.2 thousand pcs.,
- products for cars – 565.0 thousand pcs.
The plant produces different kinds of radiators: water and oil radiators, heat exchangers, etc. All products of “Orenburgsky radiator” are design-engineered by engineering department – Scientific-Technical Center (STC), equipped with test and laboratory complexes – industrial experimantal base. It makes possible to complete entire production cycle from radiator modeling to its serial production.
Over 1200 people are employed in LLC “Orenburgsky radiator”. The enterprise is situated in two industrial areas of the city. Machine tool population is over 700 units. In radiator production of new design is used the equipment which doesn’t have analogues in Russia and CIS. This equipment makes possible to produce high-performance radiators with thermotechnical and aerodynamic characteristics, which exceed the characteristics of traditional radiators.
The main aim of the enterprise is to guarantee the quality and competitive ability of products. The usage of progressive technologies, equipment, economically reasonable new materials such as plastic, composite matals, superfine strips and hard solders helps to achieve the main aim.
The enterprise’s products manufactured for automotive industry have conformance certificate.
High quality of products is marked by international awards:
- 1994 – Internatioal Award for Quality. Madrid, Spain.
- 1995 – International Gold Star for Quality. Rome, Italy.
